Workshop on the topic of gender equality and sources of stress in the workplace

On 18/07/2022., in Istočno Sarajevo, a workshop was held on the topic of gender equality and sources of stress in the workplace for policewomen. The workshop was attended by about 30policewomen, members of the "Policewomen's Network" Association from police authorities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The workshop covered topics related to issues of gender equality in the police, as well as gender-based violence, and the focus was on cases of sexual and gender-based harassment and existing protection mechanisms.

Sources of stress in the workplace were also discussed and key problems were identified, which will be discussed separately at the next workshop of this type, which will be attended by a psychologist.

Bearing in mind the specificity of the police profession, which entails daily exposure and dealing with various risky situations, often working in shifts and night work, staying at work overtime, etc., police officers are under constant pressure and in a situation where they have to find the best possible way to deal with stress.

The next workshop will be focused on managing stressful situations. The goal is to make it easier for policewomen to deal with everyday stressful situations by mastering certain techniques to relieve stress, and with the aim of preventing professional burnout.
