Workshop for policewomen on the topic of raising awareness on discrimination in the workplace was held in Sarajevo
Within the project "Stay Safe - Security Network for Human Rights Defenders and Gender-Based Violence Activist in Bosnia and Herzegovina" implemented by the Foundation of Local Democracy in partnership with the Association "Policewomen Network", today (May 10, 2018) started a two-day Workshop for policewomen. The project is being implemented with the financial support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The preliminary results of the research titled "Human Rights Defender in the Police Structures in BiH - Mechanisms of Protection against Discrimination", which was conducted within this project, were presented at the workshop.
After the presented research, certain conclusions and recommendations for further work were made. The workshop was also attended by a policewomen from The Netherlands, a member of the European Policewomen Network, who presented the best international practices in this field.
The workshop was assessed as useful in many ways, and a very emotional discussion was started on this topic, in which policewomen expressed their experiences and views.
Further activities within the concrete project are continuing.
