Women who make a difference

The president of the "Policewomen's Network" Association, Kristina Jozić, is a part of the Institute for Youth Development Kult  campaign #WomenMakingDifference. The Institute for Youth Development KULT i promoting stories of successful women from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia who make a difference in their society as part of the #WomenMakingDifference campaign, as well as use their work and social commitment to promote positive values and support other women, girls, and the wider community. With the regional campaign #WomenMakingDifference, the Institute aims to motivate young people to, based on the example of others, continue to motivate and actively participate in the fight against violence against women and girls, but also to highlight the importance of advocating and fighting for gender equality.

Kristina Jozić shows us that a woman following her dreams can become successful in any profession, regardless of all the stereotypes and prejudices imposed by society.

Kristina considers gender equality synonymous with human rights, democracy and general progress. But, although gender equality, i.e. the prohibition of discrimination, is a right guaranteed by the constitution, she does not consider that women in BiH and in the countries of the region are equal in any sphere by birth, but only as long as they fight for their equality, both in private and public life sphere.  "The moment they change that environment, they have to fight again for their equal position. I know women who are very successful in various spheres of work and occupations dominated by men, where they are completely equal, but not as a result of constitutional rights or because something is "fair", but solely as a result of their, often very exhaustive, struggle. Therefore, very often equality is implied in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but we have to fight for it!" says Kristina.
