The President of the Association, Kristina Jozić, presented at the Regional Conference on Promoting the Role of Women in the Police in Central Asia

The president of the "Policewomen's Network" Association, Kristina Jozić, participated as a presenter at the Regional Conference on the Promotion of Women in the Police in Central Asia, which was held in Astana, Kazakhstan (14-15 September, 2023), organized by the OSCE.

 

The aim of the Conference was to bring together representatives of relevant national institutions (Ministry of Internal Affairs, police academies, other relevant law enforcement agencies), OSCE executive structures and field offices, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and international organizations related to the security sector throughout the OSCE region. 

The President of the Association, Kristina Jozić, presented in two sessions. In the first session, she presented the situation in the field of gender equality in police structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina, challenges faced by policewomen, and activities undertaken with the aim of improving gender equality and combating gender-based discrimination within the ranks of the police. In the second session, she spoke about the mission and vision of the Association, goals and activities undertaken, as examples of good practice in the work of women's networks in the police.

The main objectives of the conference are: to provide a regional platform for the exchange of good practices in strengthening the role of women in law enforcement agencies in Central Asia, to enable networking and knowledge sharing between networks of policewomen, networking of the accociations in Central Asia and other parts of the OSCE region, development of recommendations for the participation of countries and the OSCE regarding the best way of providing support in networking existing networks of women in law enforcement agencies, identifying key criteria for the successful work of networks of policewomen and achieving influence on the role of women in the police.
