The final conference "More women, more trust" was held in Sarajevo

On 20.12.2023., the final conference "More women - more trust" was held in Sarajevo, which ended the project "Reducing gender-based discrimination in police structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina", which was successfully implemented in 2023.

At the conference, the activities realized within the project were presented and the media campaign "More women - more trust" was announced, with the aim of pointing out the need to increase the number of women in the police, especially in higher management positions, so that the police would be a mirror of society and an efficient service for all citizens (men and women).

Members of the "Policewomen's Network" Association, heads of police bodies and representatives of partner organizations took part in the conference.

As part of the "More women - more trust" conference, a panel discussion was held in which the following took part:

- minister of the MOI of Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica,
- president of "Policewomen's Network Association", Kristina Jozić,
- secretary general of the Center for Security BiH, Benjamin Plevljak i
- representative of AEPTM, Maid Pajević.

Panel participants talked about the benefits that women bring to police work, the importance of increasing the number of women in the police in general, and especially in higher and managerial positions, as well as the need to undertake continuous planning activities in this area. It was concluded that more women in the police also mean greater efficiency of police authorities, and ultimately a safer environment.

The project "Reducing gender-based discrimination within police structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina" was implemented by Hajde - Association for Aid and Development in cooperation with the "policewomen's Network" Association, with the financial support of the Federal Republic of Germany represented by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
