A one-day workshop titled "Raising awareness on gender equality in police structures in BiH" was held today (December 4, 2018) in the official premises of the FBiH Supreme Court in Sarajevo for police officers of the FBiH Court Police. The workshop was realized by the "Policewomen's Network" Association, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The focus of the workshop was to understand the concept of gender issues in general, the different roles and needs of men and women, and specifically addressed issues related to discrimination in the workplace with a focus on gender harassment and sexual harassment.

At the last assembly of the Association held in May this year, a decision was made on joining of policewomen of the Court Police of FBiH to the Network. Today, about 20 policewomen from The Court Police officially submitted a membership application.

In the introductory part, Chief Commander of the Court Police, Dženad Grošo, greeted the training participants and the leadership of the Association. He thanked for the reception of policewomen of the Court Police into the membership and expressed full support for the future work and overall activities of the Association.

The Chairwomen Kristina Jozić expressed her gratitude for the support and emphasized that the support of the management of each police body is crucial for the work of the Association, without which it is impossible to implement the mission and goals of the Network. She emphasized that integrating gender issues into all spheres of police work, in fact, is a capacity building activitie and it is very important that managers of institutions recognize the "Policewomen's Network" Association as a serious partner on that road.
