Policewomen at a stress management workshop
A workshop on the topic: "Increasing police efficiency: prevention and management of stress" is being held today (May 20, 2021) in the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, attended by 30 policewomen from police agencies throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. The workshop is organized by the "policewomen's Network" with the aim of empowering policewomen.
Having in mind the specifics of the police profession that comes with daily exposure and dealing with various risk situations, often working in shifts and night work, overtime at work, etc., police officers are under constant pressure and in a situation that they have to cope with the best possible way to deal with stress.
Also, this occupation requires continuous efficient balancing between official and private obligations, child care, etc. In addition to the above, due to the current migrant crisis and the appearance of Covid 19, the usual mode of work has changed and authorized officials are under special pressure, which inevitably affects their daily professional performance of official duties and private life.
Having in mind the above, the "Policewomen's Network" Association in cooperation with the psychologist Skelić Dženan developed a training aimed at increasing the efficiency of the police. The goal is to make it easier for police officers to cope with everyday stressful situations by mastering certain techniques for relieving stress and with the aim of preventing professional burnout.
