Members of the Association attended the training "Prevention of  gender based discrimination"

In the period from  15 to 19 February, 2021, an online training was held for representatives of civil society organizations of human rights defenders on "Prevention of gender based discrimination", organized by the Foundation for Local Democracy. The training was attended by six members of the "Policewomen's Network" Association.

The training aimed to help civil society organizations defending human rights to use the acquired knowledge to identify and respond to discrimination, inform victims how to seek protection and to effectively use existing mechanisms to protect victims of discrimination. In addition to the above, the participants were addressed by experts from the organization "Artikel 1 Midden Nederland" from the Netherlands, a specialized office for equal treatment in the province of Utrecht, presented experiences and standards for the prevention of gender discrimination in the Netherlands.

The interactive training was realized within the project "Human Rights Defenders Promote Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina" which is financially supported by the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the MATRA program.

In the forthcoming period, civil society organizations, together with the Foundation for Local Democracy, will collect data on cases of discrimination based on gender in accordance with the developed pattern, on the basis of which the protection system will be improved.

In her address, the Executive Director of the Foundation for Local Democracy, Jasmina Mujezinović, emphasized the importance of cooperation between civil society organizations, as well as cooperation with the institutions of the system, in order to improve the human rights situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
