Meeting with the representatives of the Sarajevo Open Center

Today (September 21, 2018), a meeting with SOC representatives Maida Zagorac and Jozo Blazevic was held in the premises of the Sarajevo Open Center (SOC) in Sarajevo. In front of the "Policewomen's Network" Association, the meeting was attended by Chairwomen Kristina Jozić.

The meeting discussed topics of mutual interest with a focus on the protection of basic human rights and freedoms of all citizens in BiH. In this context, the SOC's ongoing activities on raising awareness of hate speech and hate crime were discussed, as well as a series of educations that were conducted in the past period, in which the representatives of the police and the prosecution office took part.

Also, it was discussed about the need to introduce lectures on gender equality, gender-based violence, and hate crimes in educational institutions, with a focus on police academies and other institutions in which education and specialized courses for police officers are conducted.

The topic of the meeting was also possible joint activities and engagements in the coming period.

Since the focus of the work of both associations is protection of human rights, it has been mutually stated that today's meeting was very useful, and in the forthcoming period concrete modalities of future cooperation will be agreed.
