ORANGE DAY
Did you know that you can recognize and react to violence without someone telling you in words that they are in danger?

The "Policewomen's Network" Association joins the activities of the Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Sarajevo War Theater (SARTR), which in June marked the Orange Day by making a video showing the signal for help.
A hand sign as a signal for help is used in many situations where it is not possible for a person to show that they need help. Knowing this sign, more people can react when a person in danger tries to make it known that they need help.
The hand signal allows victims of violence to secretly call for help by opening the palm and bending the thumb inward, then bending the remaining fingers over the thumb. You can watch the video showing the help signal at the link: https://youtu.be/ofhQmWRSjZs
Orange Day - a day to raise awareness about gender equality and the fight against violence against women and girls is extremely important and is a topic that needs to be emphasized as much as possible in order to encourage women and girls who are victims of violence to speak up, but also to ensure a better and safer a life without violence for all women and girls in society.
By spotting, recognizing and sharing signals for help, it is possible to raise the awareness of citizens when it comes to this problem, but also to help someone get out of violence and change their life.
