A working meeting was held today (June 23, 2020) in the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency with Jasmin Gogić, Assistant Director of SIPA, which was attended by Kristina Jozić, Chairwomen of the "Policewomen's Network" Association, and the representative of the Center for Security Studies, partner organization, Benjamin Plevljak.

The meeting discussed the planned activities of the Association for the current and next year, and the implementation of certain projects in cooperation with partner domestic and international organizations. The focus of these projects is on improving gender equality in police agencies in BiH with special emphasis on increasing the number of women in senior and managerial positions, ie decision-making positions, and the need to educate executives on gender equality and gender based discrimination.

It was pointed out that SIPA in the police structure of BiH leads in the number of police officers in its composition, with 15%, and that in recent years there has been a trend of increasing the number of women in the rank of senior inspectors. However, further efforts are needed to achieve gender equality, which is a long process. Also, the internal document / recommendations for achieving gender equality, which are in force in SIPA, were discussed, as well as other examples of good practice in this police agency when it comes to the segment of gender equality, which the Association will try to implement in other countries. police agencies.
