With the support of US Embassy
100 Police Women completed the Training on Leadership Skills Development
A two-day workshop on "Leadership Skills Development", which took place on Jahorina Mountain, was completed today (13/09/2019). The Workshop was attended by 30 police women from law enforcement agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was the third Workshop implemented within the project “Strengthening Capacities of Policewomen – Potential Leaders”, conducted by “Policewomen Network” Association with the support of United States Embassy.
Within the mentioned project, from July to September this year, around 100 Policewomen, successfully completed this training which had the purpose to raise the awareness of gender equality, leadership skills development and empowering policewomen, which will help them in further professional development and career progress, taking into the account the fact that there are almost no women on decision making positions in police structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All participants rated the workshop as multi-useful. Beside the useful aspect of covered topics, which will help them in further professional development, the importance of networking of policewomen from large number of police agencies from all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina was particularly underlined, as well as mutual acquaintance and exchange of experience.
The Association is planning to organize a Round table on the topic “Women leadres in the security sector” within the same project, which will be realized in October this years, where women from the security and defense sector who gained the highest positions, will have opportunity to share their experience, with a focus on challenges they met in their professional career and the methods they used to overcome those challenges.
