Workshop on Gender equality in Indirect taxation authority

In the period from 6 to 8 December, 2022 a workshop titled "Gender equality in Indirect taxation authority" was held on Vlašić, organized by UNDP and UNODC. It is continuation of activities that started within the project Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Arms (HALT) within which nine workshops were held on this topic, which are now continued within the Project Digitalization and Institutional and Regional Cooperation Project – DIRC.

 

The participants of the workshop were the leading officers of the custom service and representatives of the "Policewomen's Network" Association took part as presenters and facilitators, together with representatives of the Gender Equality Agency of BiH.

Having in mind the experience of the "Policewomen's Network" Association in terms of organization and institutional activities, the President of the Association, Kristina Jozić, presented experiences in networking women in the security sector and positive practices in promoting gender equality. Also, the situation regarding gender equality in police structures in BiH was presented, as well as the activities of the Association that have been undertaken in recent years as examples of good practice. The workshop discussed discrimination in the workplace, with a focus on gender-based harassment and sexual harassment, as well as existing protection mechanisms. Also, through group work, current problems in the customs sector in terms of gender equality were identified and proposals for overcoming them.
