Verica Golijanin attended international workshop in Seoul – presentation of activities of "Policewomen's Network" Association
Member of the Association - Verica Golijanin attended International educational workshop which was held from 10.06. to 12.06.2019 in Seoul, South Korea, on topic “Development of police capacities in solving the problem of gender based violence: effective institutional structures and strategies of training”.
Verica Golijanin was representative of B&H delegation amongst 11 delegations (B&H, Georgia, Indonesia, Iraq, Korea, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Lebanon, Moldavia, Zimbabwe and Senegal), and representatives of UNDP with focus on gender equality and human rights in general in their work.
The main subject of the workshop was solving the issue of violence based on gender differences with accent on building capacities in police agencies with purpose to effectively respond to challenges of this issue, as well as building the strategies of training realted to this topic.
Verica Golijanin presented the topic "Professional police force - Policewomen's Network ", that brought questions important for gender issues and methods to conduct cases of gender based violence. In this manner, she shared experience of “Policewomen’s Network” Association in this field, as well as in overall activities in building contemporary police structures which should be capable to respond to all security challenges of nowadays.
Verica Golijanin is listed as UN expert for the region of Southeastern Europe for gender issues, which enabled her to participate in this workshop. This was a great opportunity to present our country and all of the activities of the "Policewomen's Network" Association in raising awareness of gender equality and building capacities of police structures.
