The Chairwomen of the Association visited the BiH Border Police

Today (June 23, 2020), a working meeting was held in the official premises of the BiH Border Police, at which the planned activities of the "Policewomen's Network" Association for the current and next year were presented.

The meeting was attended by the Advisor to the Director of the BiH Border Police, Chief Inspector Amra Aljić and Investigator in the Department for Internal Control and Professional Standards, Independent Inspector Igbal Memišević, and on behalf of the Association, Chairwomen Kristina Jozić and a representative of the Center for Security Studies, partner organization, Benjamin Plevljak.

Current and future projects aimed at improving gender equality in police agencies in BiH were presented with a focus on increasing the number of women in senior and managerial positions, and the need to educate senior officials on gender equality and gender based discrimination. Concrete directions and modalities of future cooperation have been agreed.

Despite the under-representation of women in police structures in BiH, and especially in senior and managerial positions, the BiH Border Police was pointed out as a positive example since it is the only police agency within the Association, which has two female chief inspectors, which is a very positive step.
